It was difficult to get my favourite images of 2023 restricted to 100 as it was a year when I visited the remote Ross Sea area of Antarctica, the Glastonbury Festival and undertook several extended hikes with a variety of friends in the Bernese Alps, as I tried to complete all the hikes that I wanted to include in the hiking guides that I am writing.
Whilst all of these in particular offered a spectacular range of photography opportunities I also made multiple visits to Canada and the Philippines as well as visits to New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia and Spain.
And as per every other year for the last 20 years I spent several months in Thailand.
In my 2023 Images folder I have 16,813 images saved in 331 Folders (numbered 4128 to 4431), each with a date and description.
As I file, edit and index all my images in both chronological and thematic folders I keep a couple of folders of ‘Best’ Images (468 in 2023) and ‘Panoramas’ (553 in 2023) folders.
So, although I have 16,813 images saved for 2023 I mainly reviewed those that have already ‘made the cut’ to my Best and Panorama Folders.
So, one way or another I have reduced 16,813 images to 150 and what follows are my own favourite images from 2024, some because I think they are attractive images and others because they are personal favourites of mine.
I hope you enjoy looking at them and they might give you as much pleasure as they did for me to take them!
