I have just spent 8 days on an Expedition cruise in Eastern Greenland with 57 other passengers.
I have written a short article about my impressions when visiting the small settlement of Ittoqqortoormiit (population 381) entitled ‘Gravediggers in Greenland’ which you will find here.
However, we spent our time entirely in the Scoresbysund Fjord system which is the longest in the world and like much of Greenland, Scoresbysund, with its combination of Fjords, Mountains, Glaciers and Icebergs offers some magnificent scenery and vistas that I was able to access on some daily hikes.
I have posted a selection of the images that I captured below to give you a sense of what Greenland as a destination offers.
These images focus on the landscape and wild life but to see some images of town life in Eastern Greenland please check here.
