106 – 2025: My Favourite Images

I have been a passionate photographer all my life dating from when my parents gave me a second hand Zeiss Ikon Rangefinder camera in the early 1960s and both my enthusiasm and modest ability as a photographer is genuine and longstanding.

In 1972 after working as an assistant prospecting hand in the remote Kununurra area of Northwestern Australia I sold images I had taken to the Australian Journal of Photography to help finance future travels and from 1979 to 2011 it was my images which featured heavily in all the colour brochures and marketing material used by our International Educational Travel company Casterbridge Tours.

44 – The Blue Trail at Ilulissat : An Outstanding Day in Greenland – September 22 2017 Ilulissat Greenland

As my wife Sharron enjoys living in our family home in the UK (with frequent visits to see her mother in Canada) and I prefer to spend my time out of Britain, either in warmer climates or the mountains, we usually find ourselves spending between three and six months together and living separate lives for much of each year. 43 – Images from Greenland and Baffin Island: August 29 – Sept 23 2017

On August 29 2016 my wife Sharron, and myself boarded the MV Ocean Atlantic in the Northern Icelandic Port of Akureyri.

We were so impressed by the magnificent scenery we discovered when we visited Greenland for the first time in 2016 (you can see images here and here) that we were both keen to return and visit other parts of Greenland, a country that affords a never ending  procession of spectacular landscapes, and we subsequently spent 26 days on two back to back expeditions aboard the Ocean Atlantic exploring parts of the eastern and southern coastlines of Greenland in Zodiacs and also undertaking some challenging hikes on the days the conditions allowed us to go ashore. I have just spent 8 days on an Expedition cruise in Eastern Greenland with 57 other passengers.
